Paul Siegel has been writing songs since he was ten years old. He was born and raised in the lower Hudson River Valley of New York State, where rural and urban influences collide.  Inspired, as a youth, by the great writing of Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Paul Simon, Tom Waits, his lyrics are both intelligent and colloquial.  Inspired by guitarists from Eric Clapton to Pat Metheny to King Sunny Ade, his style uniquely fuses a sublime rhythmic approach with the beauty of concise melodic statement.  His voice ranges from a quiet intimacy to an enthusiastic growl evoking the blues and folk and funk vocalists of our American traditions.

Perhaps best known as a founding member of Dogtalk (1985-1990), Paul has also founded a variety of projects;
Charley Django ('93 -'96), Baggabones ('98 -'99), Chester (2002). Having moved back to the East Coast in 2004, Paul has planted deep roots in the Hudson Valley. Here, he wears a variety of hats in his love for the arts and an active member of the community. He shares his craft in both individual instruction and group workshops. He Promotes and Hosts his own Music series at the Warwick Valley Winery; featuring some of the best talent living in and venturing through New York's Hudson Valley, as well as producing an interview show that can be found on valleyvoice.tv

His songs consistently speak to perseverance and hopeful observation. He studies and embraces timelessness, while exploring his craft and discovering new ways to express it.
